[ The goose is thrilled. Its heads thrash a little, deeply pleased by the pets and attention enough that even if its heads are watching the others, it’s easy enough to snatch the guns. They might notice some other items in the goose’s nest, too, but those probably don’t belong to them. They should leave those alone.
The jewelry on the desk are just gemstones and some gold and silver. There’s nothing special about the coins, they just look like currency.
You should probably move before the goose gets sad as it realizes you’re leaving. ]
Maybe take what we can find? Never know what we’re gonna need here.
[ she will pet the goose for a bit while the others steal their items back… grab her fists for her!! what are the other items, do they look useful? can vi grab them without angering her new bestie?
otherwise she can give the goose one more pet and then try to head off towards that shiny nice place. that seems promising. ]
[ The other items include a rifle that probably looks familiar to Vi, actually, given the familiar crest on the butt of it, and a large rapier with a gold hilt Nine may recognize. More weapons? You can probably leave those behind, surely…
Now that everyone has what they need and they’re moving onward, it’s time to duckling your way toward the east and to the three doors!
As you approach these doors, you will be gripped with a sudden reminder of why you were trying to leave in the first place. You aren’t meant to stay here, are you? You’re better than the confines of death’s house.
You have people to see and reunite with. You have goals, dreams, and in some cases, revenge to deliver. How can you do this if you linger?
It all leads back to the same idea: you must escape. No matter how many times you fail.
Are you all following Vi toward the shiny center, or would you like to see where the other doors lead you seeing how the ghosts are rapidly moving now? ]
I wouldn't worry about them missing anything, angel --
[ ah.
she pauses, when she sees the rifle - her chest gets tight and her expression gets rough. mm. well. she sort of wants to take it, but she doesn't. it's not her business anymore, right? she's got something more important to do. like the door. vi leaves the rifle behind, but it feels... bad to do. it really does.
instead, she'll take the gloves from kiruko with a quiet thanks, and put them on. and then be confronted by the concept of doors. you've got to escape, so... she will.
still, she doesn't want to leave the others behind, so if they don't think it's the right move, she'll stay with them. the shiny center is where she's going, though. wherever she needs to go in order to get out of this hellhole and back to - wherever. ]
[ but she will not do anything to stop the theft. she is a duckling, she will happily follow to the shiny center! but also, especially now that she has her gun, she gestures for nine to go in front of her. ]
[ Into the shiny room you all go! As you venture into the room, you come across a few things. First of all, there is a wall of weapons to your right. There are only a few of them, but take stock as you'd like:
A large broadsword A bow with arrows A shield with a hideous face A pointed trident-esque polearm A rocket launcher
To your left there is a set of nearly empty cubbies, but you can explore and find a few items:
A white men's jacket A cell phone A bag of sour gummies A sketchbook A pack of batteries A red scarf A small leather pouch A dog collar
You may take any of these if you'd like. You sense that these made aid you on your journey, though you will not understand what they are unless you choose.
Ahead of you lies a door carved into the stone. On the door is an inscription. ]
Our reputation lies on there being no escape from this place. Beyond this door, there will be no protection, no help, and no home. Should you attempt an escape, you will be brought back.
[ But hey, maybe that sign can't stop you because you can't read. Speaking of reading, there also appears to be a large tome on a pedestal. This book appears ancient, pages fraying with burns and blood smeared. You can take the time to review it, or you can march right through the door to start your journey out.
[ oh fuck, more weapons... well, she likes the looks of these. she's not super interested in anything she can't punch with so she's going to let the others look at the weapons, and if there's something left she might take it. it'd be really rad to punch with one hand and like, broadsword or polearm with the other, but she's not picky.
also she wants the sour gummies or the scarf, but again if someone else grabs them first she'll take whatever is left over because she's over confident in her ability to Destroy on her own.
the inscription gets her to pause - she probably takes a hot minute to read it, frowning, and then glances at the others. ]
... Can any of you fight? [ you've got guns and stuff but y'know. ]
[ after some deliberation, kiruko's taking the bow and arrows. and grabbing the batteries, immediately pocketing them before coming over to also stare at the description. cool cool cool. very ominous.
to vi's question... ]
I can shoot. Guns and crossbows... this should be close enough. [ slinging the bow over one shoulder. ] If nothing else, it's more ammo.
[ she doesn't want to use any weapon but her own and doesn't like stealing, but with limited ammo realizes that isn't very realistic. so naturally she is taking the rocket launcher. ]
Mmhmm.
[ what kiruko said! ]
But why can't we just leave? If they're letting us walk freely...
When Vi picks her items, she will be imbued with the following knowledge. The broadsword will be hard to swing for anyone who isn't her, as she has chosen it. Its blade is sharp and he can be used to knock back anything that comes rushing toward them. The red scarf provides a boost in agility, and the gummies will make her more flexible... but at the price of her emotions becoming more removed. Sour, if you will.
Kiruko has selected the bow and arrows and will be imbued with the knowledge that they have five arrows to work with, and these arrows can be infused with certain elements if they are blessed along the way. They will have to figure out where to get other arrows when they run out though. As for the batteries, they will find that locking the batteries into a weapon of choice will give them a health boost if their own health gets low.
Miyu has a rocket launcher! She will be imbued with the knowledge that this launcher can fire long-range explosive missiles and create smokescreens. She will need to be careful about that kickback though because if she's not grounded, she'll launch herself backwards.
As for Nine, he has a polearm with a pointed end! He will be imbued with the knowledge that the length of the polearm can change to be a long reach weapon and also a close range one. The jacket will act as a steel skin protection for three hits per battle, and the dog collar will provide more clarity and laser focus on any objective that needs to be completed.
With all of their items selected, the stone wall rumbles and the door slides upward, opening to a deep, dark maw of a cave. Green fire seems to glow along the walls, and the stone walkway leads inward as a breeze whistles around them.
[ removed emotions... ooooh, that's good. that's very good. ]
Yeah, well. Fight's what I'm good at.
[ she says, a little flatly, rolling her shoulders. she punches her fists together once before taking the blade, holding it in her gauntlet. the scarf goes around her neck, and she moves towards the cave, not really thinking about it much further. man, she could really use a hack and slash. she's all about this. the violence is practically trying to crawl out of her spine. stress relief!
she will lead the way in, swinging her sword once before confidently making her way down the green-fire walkway. ]
[ We love fighting in this house! (Except for Miyu, please let the baby go home.) As the crew ventures into the walkway, they’ll find themselves in an open room. The walkways are crumbling stone paths surrounded by what appears to be a mixture of blood and lava on all sides. Several of those same ghost-like figures loom around the corners of the room, walking and minding their own business. It’s a pretty straight shot to the door at the end of the hall, though in your path you see a few strong pillars, columns, and archways.
As you walk though, you will find something bright, heavy and golden rocketing down to the ground before you. The gold gives way to something blue, an owl symbol spinning in the center at a slow pace. Touch it?
You may also continue pressing forward and scoping the area. After all, again, the door is right there. ]
vi should know better than to just touch random things that rocket out of space right in front of you but like, whatever. act first think later. she immediately touches the owl symbol. yeet. ]
