[ if she's not shooting this rocket launcher she has so little to offer the situation. she doesn't have secret hidden strength she's WEAK and melee is an UNKNOWABLE WORLD!!!!! ]
[ I think Miyu could use her rocket launcher as a melee weapon yeah. But there they go around the holes… as they follow along, it’s pretty easy to sneak up on these creatures! They really just have to wait for them to turn their backs as they begin patrolling the other way.
Kiruko’s arrow goes flying and pierces one far-off monster in the back, causing the other to rush toward it thinking the enemy is that way. Good news! You cleared the path! Bad news, now the monsters are clustered up over by the two doors.
But then again, being clustered up means there’s a good angle to shove if you can sneak up on them.
Elsewhere, behind the doors, they may hear the sound of a loud, rattling clang. That's not alarming at all. ]
she moves right up to the cluster, and tries to use her sword to knock back one monster into the rest in order to send them either into a big hole, or the small sus holes, whatever she can. she has to get close though, so…. ]
[ while vi strikes, kiruko will move a little farther into the room, careful not to step on any sus-looking spots on the floor or stumble into the abyss...
how crumbly are these side-walls? are there any rocks to grab and pocket? ]
[ Surprisingly, this works better in a team of four than doing this by yourself. The walls are crumbly enough on top that you could probably grab some chunks of rocks to pocket. With Nine focusing on the back and Vi in the front, it’s easy for the two long weapons to sweep the monsters into each other and down into the abyss. Nine’s polearm swings, knocking more monsters onto the trap in the floor as thick, rusty spikes impale them. Hm. Why did that feel so easy suddenly... ?
The rattling behind the doors continues, but it’s hard to say which door it’s coming from. As they approach, they will find they can enter one of two doors.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to say which door might be better, as one has a sniper rifle emblem on it and the other has a handgun. You may only choose one door to pass. ]
[ They enter the room behind the handgun emblem, and the rattling chains stop. As they walk forward, the green light gives way to a new room, and walking ahead they will see someone standing in the center circle.
Okay, maybe standing isn’t the word for it seeing how the boy is crouched, but he seems to have been anticipating the four of you. ]
”Welcome back to reality.”
[ Hm. What does that even mean? Who is this clown? ]
well, vi doesn't recognize this kid, but - she is reluctant. she stutters to a stop, lowering her sword and fists, staring at him in the circle. she doesn't exactly want to go full force against someone who doesn't look like a monster? so she pauses, glancing at the others, and then: ]
[ oh it's her friend? then we will not point a gun at him i suppose. instead she's moving more along the side wall to get a good angle on the rest of the room.
[ What a good question! We do not know where the chains came from… perhaps it has moved on to somewhere else.
Miyu can see the rest of the room has a few other doors, openings and hiding places that are shadowed enough that it’s difficult to see if anyone or anything might be lingering.
“Maru” is still crouched on the ground, watching Kiruko grow closer while he flicks his eyes over to Vi and to Nine for asking similar questions. When he speaks again, the voice seems to be overlayed with something else, something that’s not his own. ]
”Halt, Kiruko. Not one step further.” [ But he doesn’t stop them either, and almost appears bored in a childlike wonder. ] “You really said yes to this vacation? You’re even more foolish than I thought.”
[ “Maru” gets to his feet then, seemingly stretching out a little and shaking out his hands. ]
“You escaped once. Once was enough.”
[ And in quick succession a few things happen. “Maru” snaps his fingers and summons several thugs that scatter across the room, immediately swinging to attack. As for “Maru” himself, he pivots, changes directions and dashes, barreling straight at Kiruko with a punch aimed at their face. ]
[ The thugs are relentless, hitting with both fists and clubs as they begin to swarm Vi for a good 1v1 beatdown (this is not 1v1, there are several of them.) Maru himself is also relentless and while Kiruko’s down on the ground, he hops over her, immediately moving to try and kick the rocket launcher out of Miyu’s hands to aim toward Vi.
He doesn’t worry about Nine, because as he throws the trident someone else materializes and catches it, holding it firmly in the middle before snapping it in half. ]
”Death cannot be forgotten. Perhaps you best begin saying your goodbyes.”
[ She steps out of the way, and soon the walls shake and rumble as several heads burst through, slithering and hissing and swarming. Every now and then though, their faces seem to shift, crying out in agony before they dart forward to snap at whomever is closest. The bone hydra bites are strong enough to snap bones, tear into flesh, and the thugs swarm and will leave fiery, deep bruises and breaks upon making contact. ]
[ turning to try and check on kiruko, but. she's immediately getting swarmed here. she can't quite make it to where kiruko is, blocked off, but that doesn't stop her. she's pretty hard to knock down, honestly - even when she gets whacked around by the burns, she doesn't stop. just adjusts her scarf, kicking that agility into gear, and going for a full on punch out match with a couple of the 21v1.
the hydra's appearance gets her to yelp, and she has about four seconds to say something that sounds like what the fuck?? before a thug sucker punches her across the face and sends her to the ground.
give her a second, she's already trying to stand back up, adjusting her fists, spitting blood to the side. she's gotta get in there, she has to try and defend the other three. she'll try to knock the thugs down with a leg sweep, taking the multitude of punches and possible broken bones.
is there a way out of here? or does she just have to fight for her life? ]
[ kiruko's back up, wobbly and with a bloody nose, whirling to look at maru as he charges at miyu.
there's some distance now. it should be enough. kiruko nocks another arrow, aims at maru, and fires. even if he's a moving target, and even if the sudden appearance of this fuckass hydra should be startling, kiruko's focus doesn't waver.
that said, the second the arrow is loosed, kiruko is scrambling away to try to flee from these hydra heads. what the fuck!!! ]

... Good luck... Sorry... I'm useless...

Hey, you're an extra set of eyes. That's always useful as hell.
[ he's going to follow after vi though, being careful to go slowly around the holes. ]
